How Bruce Bochy Beat Heart Arrhythmias

Bruce Bochy’s first bout of atrial fibrillation happened on Thanksgiving Day, 2014. The Padres player turned manager who now leads the San Francisco Giants was initially prescribed medication, still something as innocuous as a too cold smoothie could trigger A-fib. The Poway resident turned to Scripps, and after an especially severe A-fib incident in the middle of the 2017 season, his doctors recommended ablation, which destroys the abnormal cells triggering A-fib. The procedures were done during All Star break and at the end of the season. He was back on his feet for 2018. Read more about Bochy’s big healthcare win here.
