For just the second year running, a food and wine festival in Guadalupe Valley promises to enchant, and the Maker Faire returns

When: October 5-7

Where: Guadalupe Valley

Want to do Guadelupe Valley right? How about partaking in a three-day festival celebrating the region’s food and wines involving a superstar cast of dozens of chefs including local phenom Javier Plascencia and Chef’s Table’s Nancy Silverton? The weekend event’s main attraction is Saturday’s gathering at Finca Altozano, Plascencia’s al fresco restaurant, with tasting portions of over 30 local restaurants, plus craft beers, two dozen wines, live music, and even a book signing with “Somebody Feed Phil” star Phil Rosenthal. (Tickets sold separately to a welcome dinner on Friday, Saturday’s feast, and a food truck sendoff on Sunday.

Maker Faire

When: October 6-7

Where: Balboa Park

Maker Faire San Diego returns to Balboa Park this weekend with two days of drones, robots, and everything techy, crafty, and DIY. Interspersed among the 200 booths set up at 10 venues around the park are food vendors like Thai Burger Company, Taco Picasso, Eat Your Heart Out and YoY o Bento.
