The rivals agreed to meet in the ring earlier this year but the clash had to be postponed due to an injury suffered by Fury.

The Gypsy King endured a ‘freak cut’ during a sparring session just two weeks before the bout was scheduled to take place.

Usyk’s camp had been left with the impression it would be ‘several months’ before the Brit was ready to reschedule.

However, a new date was quickly put in the diary, much to the delight of boxing fans around the world who have waited so long for this fight.

And it means Fury and Usyk’s highly-anticipated bout for the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles is now just around the corner.

Fury vs Usyk: Date and start time
This 12-round undisputed heavyweight title clash will take place on Saturday, May 18.

Fury vs Usyk: What has been said?
Tony Bellew doesn’t believe that Fury can beat Usyk.

The Brit said: “I don’t think anybody beats Oleksandr Usyk.

“I don’t think anybody beats him. I said it many many moons ago. I think now [Fury] has a puncher’s chance, but he isn’t a big puncher, to be honest.

“The craziest part about it is, I think when Fury was with his uncle, I do think he beats him but his style has changed, and now, he’s an aggressive counter-puncher and that isn’t going to work against Usyk.

“I think he’s [Fury] a brilliant fighter, take nothing away from him, what he’s done for the heavyweight division is amazing, but I think Oleksandr Usyk is the best heavyweight in the world.”

But Fury is having none of that and is feeling great ahead of this undisputed encounter.

Speaking at an impromptu press conference, he said: “Yeah, I’m training hard, obviously. I’m in fantastic shape and I’ve got a massive fight coming up.

“There’s no room for error, there’s no room for not training right or any other problems, so we’ve got to get through it.

“We’re 40 days out, I feel fantastic. I know all boxers say this same old s***, but I actually am having a fantastic training camp.

“I’ve got a good team around me and everything is going to plan. No complaints, I’m working hard.

“I’ve got my secret weapon, my dad in camp this time, so I’ve got my secret weapon over there as well.

“I’ve got Ty Mitchell in, all the boys and the girls are in camp, we’ve got a full circus camp so can’t do anymore really.”
And boxing legend Prince Naseem Hamed believes Fury will beat Usyk on points.

“I’m hoping Tyson Fury is going to win that fight on points,” Prince Naseem told Drivetime on talkSPORT.

“I believe that if he stands up in the 12th round, he will get his hand raised, regardless of what’s going to happen.

“I think it’s going to be a hard fight. All I want him to do is stand on his feet.

“Stand on his feet at the 12th round at the end of it and, God willing, it should be a points win to him [Fury].”
