WELCOME TO THE PACIFIC COAST BUILDERS CONFERENCE SAN DIEGO 2013
Now is the time to start something new: Try a new style, test out new ideas, attract new customers, create new products—and most important, change the scenery. This is the approach we’re taking to PCBC this year, and we hope you’ll come along for the ride.
After years of challenges in our economy and in our businesses, we are finally witnessing a revival in the building industry. We’ve relied on our resourcefulness and creativity to weather the storm, and now we’re growing, resurging, and bouncing back. To celebrate the momentum, and to mark the beginning of something new, we’re excited to announce that this year’s PCBC will be held in San Diego on June 3–6.
PCBC 2013 is not just a trade show. It’s an elite business exchange in a brand-new city with a brand-new focus, after more than 53 years of gathering in San Francisco. San Diegans are enormously honored to host this year’s convention. We feel enthusiastically prepared to welcome this congregation of our colleagues. This is the special time of year when trendsetters, inventors, and leaders come together to renew connections, collect ideas, form friendships, share knowledge, and contribute to the excitement that buoys our industry.
Prominent builders and innovators have been shaping San Diego since the days of Mission San Diego de Alcalá, founded in 1769. Irving J. Gill launched a breakthrough in modern designs in the early 1900s, and now, guests of PCBC will get to visit our city’s newest landmark, the New Central Library in downtown. San Diego offers a rich history of architecture, gorgeous landscapes, and distinct neighborhoods, and we look forward to sharing it with all of you.
There are so many people without whom this conference would not be possible. We are grateful for the support and leadership of the PCBC Board and incredibly capable staff, CBIA, and everyone who has worked so hard to make this a memorable PCBC debut in San Diego. Thank you to our local Building Industry Association board members and volunteers, led by Chairman Marco Sessa of Sudberry Properties, and to all of you who have embraced this effort.
We promise to deliver an experience that echoes how thrilled we are to be chairing PCBC. This is such an important and proud moment for San Diego. We hope you enjoy this beautiful paradise we call home.
