From capes and spandex to homemade props and wild gadgets, these are our favorite looks
Comic-Con, San Diego’s most awaited geek-fest, has arrived! It’s the ultimate playground for comic book aficionados, superhero buffs, and nerds of every stripe to bask in the San Diego sun. Whether you have a badge or not, half the fun of Comic-Con is our city transforming into a multiverse of fandom crossovers. After last year’s Hollywood strikes, 2024’s Comic-Con appears to be back in full force along with attendees’ die-hard devotion to cosplay.
From simple and cheeky outfits to hand-crafted costumes constructed over months, attendees’ cosplays exude creativity and dedication. With day one in full swing, we hit the streets to spot the most spectacular cosplays and jaw-dropping creations strutting around the Convention Center.

Cole Novak is an award-winning writer with a passion for highlighting local figures, small businesses, and nonprofits. Born and raised in San Diego, Cole is passionate about photography, surfing, art, the local food scene, and the great outdoors.
