Rug Tufting for Teens (Part 1 and 2)

About the Event

This two-part class is on January 15 and January 29 from 5:30 – 7 PM. In this first session, teens 11+ will learn how to create and translate a design for the medium, learn the basics of tufting, and begin filling in your designs. In the second session, participants will fill in their designs and trim and finish up their rugs.

Create a small rug from scratch! Rugs have a deep history as a textile art, but also as objects that create specific spaces. Using handheld tufting machines, participants can develop and design their rugs using colorful yarn.
