Following Little Italy Mercato’s move from Cedar Street to Date Street this spring, Little Italy Association is making good use of its spacious Piazza della Famiglia with a new farmers’ market during the week: The Little Italy Wednesday Market. It’s shorter than its Saturday sister—stretching just three blocks from Kettner Boulevard to State Street—but it’s no small potatoes in comparison. You’ll find the same local farmers, artisans, and foodmakers posted up to sell their produce, meats, and handcrafted goods from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every hump day. For local restaurateurs it means beefing up their baskets for their farm-to-table menus and, for you, having your farm-fresh produce during the week—and eating it, too.
