Sweet Spot: Beeramisu at BiCE

We love this boozy spin on a classic dessert

It’s an unscientific fact that beer makes everything better—even classic Italian desserts. That’s why we love BiCE’s boozy spin on tiramisu. For their aptly named Beeramisu, chef de cuisine/pastry chef Francesca Penoncelli starts by making a stout beer reduction with cocoa and maple syrup to help intensify the coffee flavor, alongside malt and roasted barley.

After thick, fluffy layers of mascarpone, the Beeramisu is then finished with amaretti cookies for a crunch. Coffee and beer with every bite? Tastes like a shot of morning and night in one sweet package.
