The American Diabetes Association of San Diego’s 10th annual Father of the Year awards recognized three local men for the achievements they have made in their careers while serving as role models for their children. The honorees included Don Ankeny, Todd Leigh, and San Diego Magazine’s CEO and publisher, Jim Fitzpatrick, who received the award from his daughter, Jennifer Sutherland. The organization also presented Leigh with the Chair’s Citation Award for his more than 40 years of service. The event raised about $207,000 for the ADA’s educational and outreach programs.
