Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Assist with social media campaign planning and tracking skills on active platforms
  • Pitch, create and curate content specific for San Diego Magazine social media channels
  • Analyze and report on social media trends
  • Assist with social media content calendar and scheduling
  • Assist with image sourcing and assigning photo shoots
  • Attend social media photo shoots to assist with direction and execution
  • Draft and assign social media creative briefs for the in-house design team
  • Reporting and analytics for editorial and sponsored social media
  • Assist account managers with sponsored social workflow
  • Curate copy for social media captions
  • Community management for all social media platforms
  • Assist in custom digital partnerships in the areas including but not limited to: meetings, analytics, scheduling, workflow

Digital Ad Trafficking

  • Collection and receiving approval before deployment of all digital advertisements with clients.
    • This includes but not limited to E-Mail/E-Newsletters, Banner Ads, Social Media, Native/Sponsored content, Online Profiles, Contesting
  • Prepare weekly reports for all digital campaigns, newsletter and web traffic
  • Responsible for scheduling digital inventory
  • Primary customer service representative for artwork collection at deadline
    • Monitors and reminds the reps/clients of art out for above publications
    • Liaison between the sales team and art department
    • Create project management tickets in Basecamp; distills information from sales rep/client for graphic designer 
    • Review all ads during digital upload and makes sure they are correct and approved by the sales rep, client and copy editor

Sales/Marketing Assistance

  • Forward media kit requests
  • Add/delete/edit accounts in CRM
  • Monthly: distribute/create sales lead calendar, current issue to clients
  • Back-up support for mail
  • Misc. office support or projects as needed

Requirements/Job Specifications

  • Must be local to San Diego
  • 1-2 years of publishing or advertising industry related experience.
  • General experience in office setting with keen ability to multitask, manage workflow and deadlines.
  • Familiar with social media channels that include Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok and Twitter
  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive and a good team player
