First Look: Matteo

What is a nonprofit restaurant? In San Diego, it’s Matteo. And in this tiny film from SDM Studios, we tell its story. It’s run by the team behind Buona Forchetta, makers of blistered-beautiful Neapolitan pizzas. When Buona opened its doors in this neighborhood in 2013, the community showed up, helped it expand. Now with locations across San Diego, Buona’s owner Matteo Cattaneo opened his namesake restaurant to give back. Every dollar of profit goes back into the community—largely educational opportunities for youth in San Diego.
