Cannabis storage is critical for preserving the quality and potency of your cannabis. Proper storage can help to preserve the color, aroma, and flavor of your cannabis while also preventing mould and mildew growth. Cannabis should be stored in an airtight container. This will help to keep air and moisture out of the cannabis, which can cause it to degrade. Because they are readily available and simple to use, glass jars with airtight lids are a popular choice for cannabis storage. However, it is important to note that glass is brittle and may not be the best choice for those who drop things frequently.
If you are a regular weed consumer, proper storage can help to preserve the color, aroma, and flavor of your cannabis while also preventing mould and mildew growth.

Cannabis storage is critical for maintaining the quality and potency of your cannabis products. Proper storage can help to preserve the cannabis’s color, aroma, and flavor, as well as its overall effectiveness.
Temperature is an important consideration in cannabis storage. Cannabis should be stored at temperatures ranging from 32 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit to avoid mould, mildew, and other forms of decay. It is also critical to avoid exposing cannabis to extreme temperatures, such as direct sunlight or freezing temperatures, as these can have a negative impact on cannabis quality. Humidity is another important factor in cannabis storage. To avoid mould, mildew, and other forms of decay, cannabis should be stored in an environment with a relative humidity of 59 to 63 percent. Too much or too little humidity can also cause the cannabis to dry out or become too moist, reducing its quality and effectiveness.
It is also critical to keep cannabis fresh by storing it in an airtight container. Glass jars with airtight lids are a popular choice for cannabis storage because they can keep light, air, and humidity out. It’s also a good idea to keep cannabis in a dark place, as light exposure can cause it to lose its color and potency over time.
Furthermore, different types of cannabis products must be stored separately due to different storage requirements. Dried flowers, for example, should be stored differently than edibles, tinctures, or concentrates. Dried flowers should be kept cool and dark, while edibles and tinctures should be kept cool and dry, and concentrates should be kept cool and dry.
How should cannabis be stored to keep its potency and flavor?
A: To preserve the potency and flavor of cannabis, keep it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.
Can cannabis be kept in the fridge?
A: Cannabis should not be stored in the refrigerator because temperature and humidity fluctuations can promote the growth of mold and mildew.
How long can marijuana be stored before it spoils?
A: Cannabis can be stored properly for up to two years, but its potency and flavor may deteriorate over time.
Is it safe to keep cannabis in the same place as other herbs or spices?
A: It is not advisable to store cannabis alongside other herbs or spices because the strong odor of other plants can interfere with the aroma and flavor of the cannabis.
Is it possible to keep cannabis in the freezer?
A: Cannabis can be frozen, but it is not recommended because freezing causes the trichomes (the sticky crystals on the buds) to break off, affecting the potency and flavor of the cannabis.
What is the best container for cannabis storage?
A: Because they are airtight and do not react with the cannabis, glass jars with tight-fitting lids are the best type of container for storing cannabis.
Cannabis storage is critical for preserving the plant’s quality and potency. Proper storage can help cannabis products retain their flavor, aroma, and overall effectiveness. Here are some key benefits of cannabis storage:
Potency preservation: Cannabis contains a number of compounds, including THC and CBD, which can degrade over time if not stored properly. Light, heat, and humidity can all contribute to the breakdown of these compounds, lowering the plant’s overall potency. Proper storage can help to slow this process, allowing the cannabis to be effective for longer periods of time.
Flavor and aroma retention: Cannabis, like wine, develops distinct flavors and aromas over time. Proper storage can help to preserve these qualities, allowing the consumer to fully appreciate the cannabis’s distinct characteristics.
Contaminant protection: Proper storage can help to protect cannabis from potential contaminants like mold, mildew, and pests. This can assist in ensuring that the cannabis is safe to consume and poses no health risks to the consumer.
Long-term storage: Proper storage can help to preserve the quality of cannabis for extended periods of time, allowing the consumer to enjoy the plant’s benefits even when it is not in season.
Discretion: Proper cannabis storage can help the consumer maintain their discretion. You can keep your cannabis usage private and avoid unwanted attention by storing it in a secure and odor-proof container.
People frequently make the mistake of storing cannabis in its original packaging. Because the packaging is not airtight and the cannabis may quickly degrade, it is best to remove it from the original packaging and store it in an airtight container. In conclusion, proper cannabis storage is critical for preserving its quality and potency. You can keep your cannabis fresh and ready to use by storing it in a cool, dark place in an airtight container and keeping it away from other items that emit strong odors.

ArtsConnect brings those experiences into view, helping residents discover what they can see, hear and create at UC San Diego while experiencing the campus in a new way.
Ask most people what UC San Diego is known for, and the arts may not be the first answer. Yet this fall, San Diegans can watch Ghostbusters with a live orchestra, try their hand at glassmaking and wander among more than 20 works of public art woven throughout the university’s La Jolla campus.
ArtsConnect brings those experiences into view, helping residents discover what they can see, hear and create at UC San Diego while experiencing the campus in a new way.

“The arts are at the heart of UC San Diego’s student-centered mission and vision,” says Alysson Satterlund, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life. “Whether creating, participating in, or experiencing performances, the arts are essential to a healthy and truly fun Triton student experience.”
That invitation often begins where the arts intersect with other fields.
“Some of the most innovative work and discovery happen where disciplines don’t usually share a stage,” says Cristina Della Coletta, Dean of the UC San Diego School of Arts and Humanities. “So through our unique intersection of the arts with science, technology, and medicine, we are improving lives, physically and emotionally.
Take The Inaudible Ocean, a collaboration between Department of Music Professor Lei Liang and Scripps Institution of Oceanography Assistant Project Scientist Josh Jones. Over eight years, the pair recorded earthquakes, ship noise, whale songs and other sounds in remote underwater locations. They transformed those recordings into a live music experience that allowed audiences to hear the ocean in an entirely new way. The work premiered on campus in May and continues to evolve.
The arts also connect the campus to the global art world and diverse perspectives. Chief Campus Curator Jessica Berlanga Taylor recently curated the Mexico Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale, featuring RojoNegro, the collective formed by Noé Martínez and María Sosa. The collective will unveil a compelling new permanent installation for UC San Diego’s celebrated Stuart Collection later this fall.

ArtPower offers another easy entry point, bringing touring performers to venues including the outdoor Epstein Family Amphitheater and the intimate Loft. The nearly three dozen performances featured through its 2026-2027 season span music, dance, film, theater and conversation.
Among the fall highlights is Ghostbusters in Concert on Sept. 25, pairing the beloved 1984 film with a live performance of Elmer Bernstein’s score. Tickets start at $35, and the amphitheater is located next to the UC San Diego Blue Line trolley station.
“Every member of our community should have access to world-class art, so we work hard to remove the barriers that stand in the way,” says Colleen Kollar Smith, executive artistic director of the Campus Performances and Events Office. “That means affordable ticket prices, and performances, voices and experiences where people see themselves reflected on stage and know they belong.”
The arts at UC San Diego are not only something to watch. The Craft Center offers public classes and workshops in ceramics, jewelry, woodworking, culinary arts and even surfboard shaping. At the new Glass Center, beginners and experienced makers can explore glassmaking through classes, demonstrations and studio experiences.
Whether you want to attend a performance, make something yourself or spend an afternoon exploring public art, there is an easy way in. And the invitation extends well beyond students and alumni.
Kollar Smith says it best: “Visit, participate, spectate or create. You’re invited, and we hope you’ll connect with us soon.”

Laika Nur, MD, takes her love of volleyball from the court to the clinic as team physician for the San Diego Mojo
Growing up, Laika Nur, MD, Scripps Clinic sports medicine specialist, loved watching beach volleyball when the Association of Volleyball Professionals tour came to her hometown of Chicago. A new program guides new moms through high-risk pregnancy and into the “fourth trimester”
Mai Vue was just 34 weeks pregnant when she delivered her baby. Her pregnancy had been complicated, and she’d had a recent second trimester pregnancy loss, which led to her receiving specialized care from Sean Daneshmand, MD, a Scripps Clinic perinatologist who oversees high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Daneshmand and his team took care of Mai during her pregnancy, through the birth of her healthy baby girl and beyond. Mai was part of a program Scripps launched to provide support to new moms in the weeks and months after delivery. The postpartum program, known as Scripps Health’s Fourth Trimester Continuum of Care, provides care for women with high-risk pregnancies to optimize their health after childbirth and reduce the risk of complications in future pregnancies. Scripps Clinic’s Mohs surgery center is one of the most sophisticated in the country.
It’s estimated that one in five people in the U.S. will develop skin cancer at some point in their lives. When you factor in living in a sun-soaked city like San Diego and the outdoorsy lifestyle that comes with it, that figure can jump to as high as one in three, which makes early detection and intervention all the more important. Dermatologists at Bighorn Mohs and Dermatology Center are using innovative imaging methods and advanced surgical techniques to diagnose and treat skin cancer. For certain cancers in sensitive spots, like the face, dermatologists perform Mohs surgery, removing skin tissue layer by layer until reaching healthy, cancer-free tissue. They also use a process called immunohistochemistry to view tissue samples taken during Mohs surgery in far greater detail than previous methods. Read more about how Scripps is advancing skin cancer care here.
