The Grauer School to Host Acclaimed Author Cynthia Muchnick for Great Conversations Series Nov. 6

About the Event

As part of its Great Conversations Series, The Grauer School, an independent school in Encinitas focused on Learning by Discovery®, will host a conversation with acclaimed Author Cynthia Muchnick on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Muchnick will present on her best-selling book, “The Parent Compass: Navigating Your Teen’s Wellness & Academic Journey in Today’s Competitive World,” followed by a book signing and question-and-answer session.

“Throughout our 33-year history, The Grauer School has presented ‘Great Conversations’ events to engage in a dialogue with the community about educational issues as well as topics that our families want to learn more about,” said Dana Abplanalp-Diggs, M.Ed., head of school for The Grauer School. “This is a great event for families to hear from an expert on what approaches to take with their teenagers about their health and academic success.”

“The Parent Compass” offers parents advice on fostering grit, resilience and strategies to help teens approach life with purpose, guidance on how to preserve the parent-child relationship while navigating a competitive academic environment and clear expectations of appropriate roles for parents and teens in the college admission process.
