Job Description: I help urban students succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). I plan everything from fundraisers to training sessions.
How I Landed Here: I started as a University of san Diego intern, majoring in environmental studies.
Best Moment at Work: When students learn to prepare taxes or handle translation for their parents – and when they graduate from college with STEM degrees.
Worst Moment at Work: When I’m confronted by the depth of the crime and poverty that our students face.
Highlight: When the institute received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring in 2012 – the first time this award was presented in San Diego!
