Reality Changers
Reality Changers helps disadvantaged kids better their chances. Over 1,000 kids and teens each year get everything they need to stay the course toward college graduation, including financial assistance and guidance in every step of the application process. Want to help? Donate money or time. Reality Changers’ tutors and mentors are volunteers, and companies can sign on to be community service sites and job-shadow hosts.

UC San Diego helps young adults work toward career success, but younger students can get in on the college experience, too. Middle and high school students can learn all about science, technology, engineering, art design, and mathematics at Sally Ride Science Junior Academy. High school students can get a head start through Academic Connections and experience firsthand what it’s like to live on campus.

Breaking the cycle of poverty is daunting, but a college degree can be a ticket out. Barrio Logan College Institute helps kids from the neighborhood, where only 3 percent of adults over 25 have a degree, become the first in their families to go to college. Real World Scholars
Real World Scholars believes entrepreneurship can help kids develop skills they’ll use long after graduation. That’s why they empower teachers and students to start their own classroom-based businesses and gives them the support to make them a success. Real World Scholars provides startup funds and covers taxes and web support costs. Check out the wide variety of products these student-run companies have to offer.
