Don’t let his age fool you: this teenage jazz prodigy is a dynamic force of energy and spirit. Recognized by the Jazz Excellence Organization and winner of their Young Artist Grant, Kahlil Childs is one of the youngest musicians to take over our Wu Tsai QRT.yrd. The fifteen-year-old saxophone virtuoso is under the tutelage of the GRAMMY® Award-winning Kamau Kenyatta and local jazz legend Charles McPherson. All About Jazz praises Child’s “keen understanding of nuance that is rare for veteran players, much less a ninth grader.” Come hear this dynamic young musician, who is sure to dazzle and inspire.
