From Friday, July 8 through Tuesday, July 12 at the Convention Center, the MLB All-Star FanFest ($35, $30 for children 2-12, free for children 2 and under, plus senior discounts) is a baseball theme park with games, giveaways, Hall of Famers like Steve Garvey and Dave Winfield signing autographs, and more. The event will focus on the history of the Padres as well as other teams’ legacies, offer kids’ clinics led by former Major League stars, and more.

MLB is hosting the All-Star Game’s first yoga event: Soul Pose Yoga (from $25) at Waterfront Park on Saturday, July 9, with two sessions at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Sign up for the Color Run All-Star 5K (from $35) on Sunday, July 10, which courses through downtown with MLB mascots along the route and former All-Stars throwing colored powder. Or head to the Hilton Bayfront for the first ever Play Ball Park, a free initiative to encourage people to play any form of ball, including softball and Wiffle ball. The 80,000-square-foot outdoor space will offer skill training for youth baseball and softball players.
If you can’t make it downtown…
Drink in the ball game spirit—with a few cold ones—at Miramar’s AleSmith Brewing, where the new Tony Gwynn Museum is made up of more than 300 souvenirs from Mr. Padre’s career, like jerseys, bats, scorecards, and more. Beer and baseball—sounds like summer to us.
