Philip Hansen, 26, began repurposing hardcover books as lamps in 2009. When friends, Etsy, and eventually HGTV took notice the following year, Typewriter Boneyard, a line of vintage-inspired light fixtures, was born. (The name comes from the many old-school typewriters Hansen used to collect.) Now he and his wife, Chelsea, also 26, craft their signature book lamps, antique-style pendant lamps, and chandeliers for residential and commercial clients, like Coffee & Tea Collective, in their industrial loft downtown. The Vista natives plan to expand with temporary installations for weddings and events. Find their designs at Make Good in South Park and Form & Function in Solana Beach. typewriterboneyard.com
