Thanks to perennially pleasant temps, Mexico’s climate lends itself to dining alfresco well into fall. And at Traslomita, an outdoor eatery within the Hacienda La Lomita winery in Valle de Guadalupe, the natural greens of the vineyards and the pink and purple hues from the surrounding bougainvillea create a scene straight out of a storybook.
Chef Humberto Avilés has created a menu of rustic dishes using ingredients that are true to the land and local wine country, like the ahi tuna and chicharrón tostadas. The fresh tuna’s silky texture combined with a salty crunch from the crisped pigskin make for a perfect pair.
