Lobster West

Lobster West in Encinitas, not everything on your plate comes from our backyard

By Brooke Renna

New restos are flying in fancy fish from all over. Just-opened Lobster West (Encinitas) is touting its lobster rolls, pictured above, made with lobster sent overnight from Maine. Bite of Boston (Rancho Bernardo, La Jolla, Pacific Beach) flies in Maine lobster and New England clams for lobster rolls and clam chowder twice a week. Fish Public (Kensington), Tracy Borkum’s newest restaurant, also brings in Maine lobster as well as Labrador redfish and Eastern Atlantic oysters. Sounds wicked good to us!
