San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival

The SDBF&W Festival is San Diego’s biggest. It’s our version of the Food & Wine Festivals in L.A. or Miami. There are literally dozens of events across the city (for a full listing, visit their site.) The Grand Tasting is obviously the “main event,” but one of the satellite events that excites me most is The “Taco TKO Competition,” a competition for the city’s best fish taco on Nov. 17 at The Quartyard.
That’s something that needs to be its own citywide competition. Comun Kitchen (and upcoming Top Chef contestant) Chad White will judge along with others.

San Diego Beer Week
When: Through Nov. 15
Where: Everywhere
Beer is the new Shamu of San Diego. The new icon. The new identity.
Craft beer is the official city drink. Continuing this week through Nov. 15 there is a craft beer event in every corner of the city. Pick and choose, whether it’s a rare beer breakfast at Stone, a beer trolley tour, barrel-aged beers at Pizza Port, or the Green Flash and Alpine collaboration event at Iron Pig Alehouse. It’s like ComicCon for beer nerds.

Are you serious about your wine? San Diego is breaking ground on a new conference that features some of the most accomplished wine minds in the country (Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine, etc.). It’s a four-day conference will taste, learn, go to keynote sessions, round-table discussions, a Grand Tasting, everything. Most of the top minds in the industry will be on hand for the whole shebang.
