The holidays should be all about giving back. But even the most altruistic of us sometimes find ourselves lacking motivation, so a little incentive to give can’t hurt. And what’s a better incentive than beer?
Sore Eye Sudsmas
December 10, Societe Brewing Company
In an effort to boost Societe Brewing Company’s annual food drive—benefiting the San Diego Food Bank—local beer blogger Sore Eye Suds is throwing a holiday party at the brewery this Saturday. All food donations give you an entry into a raffle, and there are bonus incentives for donating 50 pounds or more. The fun-packed event also includes a gift exchange, a holiday costume contest, and a highly-anticipated and super-rare keg of Societe’s barrel-aged sour The Urchin.
Backroom Beer Pairing
December 14, Baron’s Market
Baron’s Market is bringing back its Backroom Beer Pairing series with a “Ho-Ho-Hoppy” holiday edition in collaboration with Alpine Brewing Company. The loading docks and stock rooms of the market’s three San Diego locations will be transformed into speakeasies, offering a holiday-inspired food and beer pairing menu. And the best part? 100 percent of ticket sales benefit the San Diego Food Bank.
Ales n’ Rails
December 16, The San Diego Model Railroad Museum
The San Diego Model Railroad Museum’s second annual Ales n’ Rails event combines an ugly holiday sweater party with a beer tasting fundraiser—because nothing says Christmas quite like getting drunk while dressed in a knitted jumper with reindeers on it! The ticket price includes unlimited tastings from local breweries such as Modern Times and Benchmark Brewing, and you’ll be helping the museum fund its different programs and exhibits.
