Scripps Mercy Ball raised $700,000 to benefit trauma care at Scripps Mercy Hospital. A high-energy live auction that included a trip to Hawaii, donated by Seabourn Cruise Line, and dinner for 14 by Cow by Bear, raised a record amount for the hospital.
After the program, guests socialized around a churro and coffee bar in the hotel foyer. Tables were decorated with floral centerpieces by Annette Gomez and live music by Haute Chile had guests dancing from the first song ’til the last. The hospital’s chief of staff, Dr. Michael Sise, trauma surgeon Dr. Vishal Bansal, emergency medicine physician Dr. Beverly Harrel-Bruder, and patient Marcy Thornton shared first-hand accounts of how donor generosity positively impacts patients’ lives.
