From Frank Sinatra and the Rolling Stones to Princess Diana and the Dalai Lama, the Kahala Hotel and Resort has hosted royals, rock stars, and returning families who favor the private beach retreat in the shadow of Oahu’s Diamond Head. This year marks the resort’s 50th anniversary, and to commemorate, the Kahala is hosting traditional hukilaus, hula performances, and Golden Jubilee prix-fixe dinners. The year-long party continues with a series of seaside pa’ina (gatherings) on the white sand beach, like their summer solstice Blues, Bourbon and BBQ (June 20), Hawaiian-style Clambake (July 4), and a slack-key concert with rising star Makana (August 31).
