Digital Designer to help brainstorm, design and execute innovative multi-platform content. The magazine’s content takes many forms—reported articles, photo essays, videos, social media, events and brand partnerships. You will pro-actively produce a variety of materials for the print and digital realm. As the Digital Designer you will work with the Chief Creative Officer and Editor-in-Chief.

Translate complex conceptual and strategic ideas into graphic design solutions, seamlessly coming up with templates for print and digital.

Design ambitiously, with a command of typography, composition, messaging hierarchy, and balance

Help establish a seamless process to align content for print, web design, e-newsletters and social.

Oversee digital story builds

Create custom artwork for digital stories, digitally focused assets for events and marketing

Create replicable templates and guidelines for print, online and social story promotion elements

Help establish and maintain brand visual style guides

Develop mood boards/visual treatment concepts for new newsletters and editorial refreshes

Contribute to ongoing creation of a comprehensive and diverse portfolio of freelancers suited to the visual voice of SDM; understand journalism

Collaborate across creative teams and provide ideas and visual solutions in brainstorming meetings

Help arrange photo shoots

Skills
Candidates must be fluent in the digital design realm and be a true stakeholder in the process of alleging print with online. Experienced digital media creator with 5 years demonstrated history of working in the publishing, e-marketing and art production industries. Skilled in art direction, photo editing, graphic design, social media marketing, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign.
