Events & Sponsorship Coordinator

San Diego Magazine is seeking a talented, self-motivated, enthusiastic Event & Sponsorship Coordinator to join our team.

The Event & Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Events and Sponsorships in developing and executing high profile lifestyle events that drive engagement, build relationships, are profitable, and compliment San Diego Magazine’s brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate San Diego Magazine’s event-based business with profitable business plan in place

  • Assist in planning and implementing large scale, high level events and projects
  • Assist with ticket registration, customer service, and eventbrite supervision (knowledge of eventbrite is a plus)
  • Assist in the development and execution of the event’s project management timeline
  • Delegate tasks, responsibilities, deadlines, and other specifications to intern(s)
  • Assist with sponsor, exhibitor, and/or vendor management
  • Collaborate with the management team on new and innovative ways to increase revenue potential from sponsorships and ticket sales
  • Assist with nomination goals and evaluations for our nomination based events
  • Seek out new venue spaces and attend all event venue tours and pre-planning site visits
  • Recruit and manage external volunteers and/or staff volunteers for events
  • Coordinate event setup, live event production, and tear down with Director of Events & Sponsorships
  • Responsible for driving brand awareness and advocacy by working with clients and vendors
  • May serve as main contact for sponsors, vendors, and/or exhibitors for certain events
  • Collaborate with the Event, Art, and Marketing teams to create overall event themes and design elements that match San Diego Magazine branding.
  • Assist with securing event permits and licenses through various city departments.

Qualifications:

  • Seasoned professional with 2 years of event coordinating experience.

  • Prior knowledge of Eventbrite organizer platform is a plus.

  • Experience with Canva or other similar graphic design programs is a plus.

  • High attention to detail, positive attitude, great customer service, and problem solver.

Local candidates will be given preference, but the company may be open to remote candidates in the Pacific Time Zone. The company does not pay for relocation.
