Train enthusiasts will delight in this wonderland of miniatures that celebrates the history of locomotion.
The 27,000-square-foot museum in Casa de Balboa, one of the top in the world, enchants visitors of all ages. Exciting exhibits include the Tehachapi Pass, a miniature model of 70 miles of single track that carves through rugged mountain scenery, and the Toy Train Gallery, a collection of rare Lionel and American Flyer cars from the 1920s through the 1950s, as well as modern toy trains from Lionel, MTH, K-line, and Atlas-O. Children can get eye-level with some displays, and push buttons to operate the coal trains.
