The lunch menu at Jsix recently took a more casual turn, with an assortment of sandwiches subbed in for some of the more dinner entree-like dishes. The reason is simple: Executive Chef Christian Graves says the new additions are what he’d want to eat for lunch.
Some items from the former menu remain, including the burger and the turkey sandwich, but further down the list are more enticing options, including the “BLT” ($11). It’s in quotation marks for a reason; this homage to the classic sandwich is significantly stepped up. Instead of bacon, the house-made baguette is stuffed with tender cubes of pork belly that melt on impact, confit heirloom tomatoes, burrata, two spreads (pesto on the top bun, aioli on the bottom), and oh yeah, lettuce.
The burrata — an ingredient Christian admits he’s obsessed with — is a clever addition to the traditionally cheese-free BLT. The heat from the belly melts it slightly, transforming it into a creamy, fluffy spread that melts over the juicy cubes of braised pork belly.

Sandwich fillings are so generously portioned that the baguette can barely contain them, making for a somewhat messy eating experience, but there’s an easy remedy: get the mixed greens instead of fries, pick out a few large pieces of pork belly and tomato, and make yourself a little BLT side salad to go with your BLT sandwich.
