Toast for the Roses: A Kentucky Derby Watch Party

About the Event

Local nonprofit St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC) is bringing the spirit of Churchill Downs right to San Diego with “Toast for the Roses,” a Kentucky Derby celebration and watch party on May 3rd at the Guild Hotel in Downtown.

A stylish celebration of the most thrilling two minutes in sports, this live watch party, will include handcrafted cocktails, delectables bites, live music, photo opportunities and more. Whether you’re a racing fan or looking to enjoy the derby atmosphere, this event promises an evening of flavor, and fun downtown.

Guests are encouraged to don their biggest hats and brightest bow ties for a complete Derby Day look. As the race is known for its bold fashion and headwear, those who are dressed to the nines have a chance to win fashion contests. The best-dressed guests will take home fabulous prizes.

This unforgettable afternoon will raise funds for SMSC’s innovative programs that give adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a space to develop creative outlets, learn marketable skills, and gain a sense of independence and self-esteem. Over 400 students attend SMSC, ranging from young adults to seniors in their eighties.
