The port city of Ensenada offers both lovely views of the Pacific and a bounty of fresh seafood. One of my favorite food memories comes from a visit to Manzanilla, the restaurant of chef Benito Molina and his wife, Solange Muris. At the forefront of Baja’s cuisine, Manzanilla’s near-perfect menu makes it hard to choose, but you must get the seared abalone, cooked perfectly and served with creamy smoked tomato salsa. If you only recognize abalone from its gorgeous shell, now is your chance to try this gem of a mollusk.
