The July 4 Big Bay Boom fireworks show, which is supposed to light up the sky for a full 20 minutes, lasted just 15 seconds last year, when all 7,000 fireworks went off simultaneously. Garden State Fireworks, the 123-year-old company that puts on the show, volunteered to provide the 2013 show for free, even before they knew what had gone wrong. Here’s to no computer glitches during this year’s display, which will debut new cube patterns, jellyfish, and pastel-colored splitting comets. Watch the ’works alongside 500,000 San Diegans.
