For nearly two decades, Crab Hut San Diego has been bringing Southern seafood boils and Cajun flavors to San Diego. The Crab Hut story officially began in 2007 when sisters Kim and Ky Phan along with Kim’s husband, Quan, opened doors to their first location on Convoy–a mere fraction of the Convoy we know today. Crab Hut’s commitment to bringing the best, freshest seafood available started from day one when they were so dedicated that they’d get their live crawfish shipped to the airport, drive their little Volkswagen Beetle over to pick it up, and haul it back to Convoy. Now, with three locations to their name (Downtown and Mira Mesa came next), Crab Hut still places the same emphasis on serving high quality, mindfully sourced products at each restaurant.
A Family Story and A Family Restaurant
The Phan sisters grew up in the restaurant industry after they arrived in the U.S. from Vietnam at a young age. They saw the level of commitment their parents applied to their own Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant in El Cajon and now proudly bring that welcoming atmosphere and strong work ethic to all three Crab Hut locations. At Crab Hut, all are invited. Your parents, your kids, even your dogs (on the Mira Mesa patio at least). As a family friendly restaurant with a dedicated kid’s menu, there’s a little something for everyone. Kids can color at the table and enjoy macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders or clam chowder, while parents can feast on anything from a seafood bucket complete with Crab Hut’s signature Full House sauce, to specialty dishes including spicy jambalaya, shrimp scampi and gumbo. Plus, Kids Eat Free the entire month of October.
One of San Diego’s Best Happy Hours
With a full bar at each location serving beer, wine and craft cocktails, Crab Hut has one of the best kept secrets in San Diego––its happy hour. Offered every weekday at the bar, specials include $6 select draft beer, $9 house cocktails, $10 house wine and $9 sangria, along with 75 cent Hut Wings, $10 sausage sliders, $8 popcorn shrimp, $7 crab poppers and 50% off oysters. Keep happy hour going on Tuesdays when the offers are extended all night long. Bring a friend and pretend you’re on a tropical vacation with one of Crab Hut’s specialty punch bowls for two, a Mai Tai or Pina Colada. Or keep it classic with an Old Fashioned or Moscow Mule.
Crab Hut invites guests to experience its family-friendly atmosphere complete with Louisiana-style seafood boils, fresh crab, crawfish and more at its locations in Convoy, Mira Mesa and Downtown. The restaurants are open at 3:00 p.m. every Monday through Thursday and at 1:00 p.m. every Friday through Sunday. For more information, visit www.crabhutrestaurant.com.
