La Jolla Playhouse Gala

This annual fundraiser featured a special unplugged performance by the Flaming Lips, the legendary rock band that composed the Playhouse’s recent world-premiere musical Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. Prior to the show, the 360 guests savored a custom, dinner-by-the-bite menu from chef Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille. The sold-out event raised nearly $1 million for the theater’s education and outreach programs.
