Celebrate National Go Skate Day at North City’s Ramp It Up Event

In honor of National ‘Go Skate’ Day, North City is hosting Ramp It Up, a free community event from 11AM to 3PM celebrating skate culture with lessons, professional demos, breakdancing, live DJs, and food and drinks from North City’s top dining destinations.

The lineup of local skate heroes includes Exposure Skate, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women, girls, and nonbinary individuals through skateboarding; Jim Bell Skateboard Ramps, founded by veteran skater and ramp builder Jim Bell, whose custom ramps and skateparks will be on-site and ready to ride; Skate Dogs, offering classes, camps, and private lessons with a mission to inspire kids to develop a lifelong love for skateboarding; and Twisted Orbit’s Pro Roller Skaters, roller skating rockstars performing on the DJ dance floor, with skaters encouraged to bring their own skates and groove along.

Riders and spectators can also purchase an array of bites from a selection of North City’s eateries including A Lo Fresco, Buona Forchetta, Maya’s Cookies, Wynston’s Ice Cream, Milonga Empanadas, J.Brix Wines, and Draft Republic featuring Tarantula Hill Brewing Co.
