SD Indigi-Con 2025: Native Comic Book Artists and Writers

About the Event

The inaugural SD Indigi-Con uplifts Native voices in comics, graphic novels, and visual storytelling. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., creators Roy Boney Jr., Darcie Little Badge, and Theo Tso head up a panel looking at how comic books have influenced them as creators. Then, from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., California Native artists Weshoyot Alvitre, Xatímaniim Drake, and Jackie Fawn will discuss how sequential art helps them tell indigenous stories. The day concludes with a mixer from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., co-sponsored by the Afrofuturism Lounge, complete with a DJ, light refreshments, cash bar, vendors, and a raffle.
