Blackletter Calligraphy: A 4-Week Introductory Class

About the Event

Tuesdays, 5:00–7:00 PM
February 24, March 3, 10, 17

This four-week class covers the fundamentals of Blackletter calligraphy, using a broad-edge parallel pen. You’ll learn how to create the thick and thin strokes that define the style, and how letterforms are built through structure, rhythm, and stroke logic. Blackletter, also known as Gothic script, has been used since the 12th century. Today it shows up in tattoos, certificates, logos, and graphic design. It’s bold, structured, and satisfying to write.
