Though not as familiar as its glitzy counterparts in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles, Fashion Week San Diego has been packing runways and delighting fashionistas for 11 years, and showcased over 100 designers from around the world during its lifetime. Using FWSD as a launchpad, these innovative entrepreneurs have gained industry recognition on the pages of Vogue and Women’s Wear Daily. This year, art and fashion collided as 15 designers showcased their lines on the catwalk at Lux Art Institute. Check out these three standout FWSD designers making a name for themselves in San Diego.
I Am Sublime
Paige Serrano is the face behind boho-chic brand I Am Sublime. Designed for elegance and versatility, I Am Sublime’s luxe, flowy hand-sewn pieces transition effortlessly from a day at the beach to an evening out. The current line was inspired by San Diego’s breathtaking surroundings and the laid-back bohemian vibe of its beach communities. Paige’s new men’s line launches in 2019, and will incorporate the same elements of versatility for the man who wants comfort and style.
Irina Madan
Irina Madan is a San Diego–based artist and fashion designer originally hailing from Moldova. Her designs represent timeless and seasonless wearable art. Each creation is concept hand-painted on white cotton canvas that enhances the power of each color she uses. Irina was recognized as one of the top designers at this year’s event.
