Flavor, Color & Culture: Cinco de Mayo Celebrations at Bazaar del Mundo Restaurants

Diane Powers’ Bazaar del Mundo Restaurants – Casa Guadalajara, Casa de Pico and Casa de Bandini – bring the vibrant spirit of Mexico to this side of the border with their Cinco de Mayo festivities. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, ballet folklorico performances and delicious food and drink specials, including the limited-time “Cincorita” – a layered margarita blending strawberry, mango and melon flavors in the colors of the Mexican flag.

Saturday, May 3, Sunday, May 4 & Monday, May 5: Casa Guadalajara’s three-day Cinco de Mayo celebrations are livening up Old Town San Diego with live Mariachi music, a Mexican troubadour and enchanting ballet folklorico performances! Indulge in festive food and drink specials, including Don Julio tequila promotions and must-try items like street tacos, esquites (Mexican street corn), aguas frescas and Jarritos available at the outdoor taco stand. Add more color to the party with face painting, available daily from 12-8 p.m.

On Saturday, May 3 from 12-3 p.m. Casa Guadalajara will participate in Old Town’s blind tasting salsa competition where participants can sample salsas and cast their vote to crown the Best Salsa of 2025! The table/booth will be located on Harney Street and participation cost is $5 which includes six salsas and a bag of chips.

Saturday, May 3, Sunday, May 4 & Monday, May 5: Casa de Pico will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with live trios, mariachis, ballet folklorico and special giveaways on tequilas like Don Julio, Casamigos, Teremana, Espolòn and Hornitos, and beers, Corona and Modelo Especial. Get in the spirit with the Carnitas Enchiladas Verdes – juicy pork enchiladas with salsa verde topped with pico de gallo, guacamole and frijoles de la olla.

Savor limited-time menu favorites like the Enchiladas Bandera and the “Mayorita” – their famous margarita blending with guava purée. Plus, enjoy hourly tequila specials featuring Cazadores, Don Julio, Casa Noble and Casamigos. The festive environment continues with live music by Mariachi Zapopan, Tinku Duo and Mexican folkloric dancers.
