Founding Members of The Blasting Company to Perform Exclusive Show at the Casbah

Critically-acclaimed composers and multi-instrumentalists Joshua Kaufman and Justin Rubenstein – the founding members of The Blasting Company – have announced that they will bring their singular blend of American folk traditions, Eastern European influences, and orchestral storytelling to the Casbah on March 29.

Best known for their unforgettable score to the Emmy Award-winning animated series Over the Garden Wall, a cult favorite that has amassed more than 220 million streams globally as well as their contributions to such major motion films as Burlesque and The Year Engagement, Kaufman and Rubenstein have built a reputation as innovative composers whose work transcends conventional musical boundaries.

Recently, the two have collaborated on a variety of projects including the New York Times-acclaimed podcast The Kids of Rutherford County and a three-album soundtrack for the tabletop role-playing campaign The Crooked Moon, featuring renowned artists Haley Reinhart, Jemaine Clement, and the legendary composer Van Dyke Parks.

Now, taking their work to select venues this spring, fans will have the rare opportunity to experience their distinctive sound live. These immersive musical performances will feature selections inspired by their celebrated work, alongside new material that highlights their continued evolution as composers and artists.
