San Diego Storytelling Festival

About the Event

This year’s sixteenth annual festival brings together an extraordinary lineup of tellers:

Darci Tucker (American Lives Theatre) presents her acclaimed one-woman show, Revolutionary Women, portraying three remarkable women who lived through the American Revolution. Performing in first person, Tucker vividly brings history to life. She has appeared nationwide, including at Colonial Williamsburg.

Adam Mellema, an engaging Los Angeles-based storyteller known for his work with families, youth, and veterans, will both perform and lead a special workshop: “Getting Your Loved Ones to Tell THEIR Stories” — a practical and inspiring session for anyone who wants to preserve family memories.

Máirtín de Cógáin, originally from Cork, Ireland, brings lively Irish stories and traditional music guaranteed to deliver good craic and warm the heart.

Festival audiences will also enjoy performances from members of the Storytellers of San Diego, including Aunt Li-Anne, Marilyn McPhie, Emily Stamets, Ollis Mozon, Almena Mozon, David Schmidt, Mindy Donner, Lissette Ryan, Patti Christensen, and James Nelson-Lucas.
