The Rosin Box Project | Incubator Lab

About the Event

Incubator Lab is a new program from The Rosin Box Project that invites audiences inside the creative process, offering a rare opportunity to experience how new dance is made from first idea to final performance. Featuring three new contemporary ballets by Bethany Green, Natasha Rader, and Alexandra Schooling, the program unfolds over a week of both process-based and performance experiences.

May 26 – 28, audiences can step into the Process for open rehearsals and informal “After Hours” sessions, where choreographers test, revise, and reshape material in real time. A working dress rehearsal offers a behind-the-scenes look at how lighting, costumes, and structure come together just before opening night, revealing the final layers of decision-making that shape the work.

Performances take place May 29–31, where the completed pieces land on stage. Each performance is followed by an artist talkback, giving audiences the chance to engage directly with the choreographers and dancers.

By placing process alongside performance, Incubator Lab reframes the experience of contemporary ballet as something evolving and immediate—offering audiences not just a finished work, but a deeper understanding of how it comes to life.
