The Padres’ opening night may be March 30, when they take on the Dodgers at 5:05 p.m., but the real action begins at Petco Park on April 1 for Opening Day. The opening ceremony and 10th-anniversary celebration of Petco Park will include Navy chiefs bearing the enormous Holiday Bowl flag (pictured), fireworks, and a Jerry Coleman tribute, and all in attendance go home with a free hat. Fun changes await inside the Park, where the formerly private rooftop of the Western Metal building is now open to the public as a Rimel’s Rooftop Grill, and local fave Phil’s BBQ will have a location near Section 113 in the main concourse. Finally, Military Opening Day is April 13. Play ball!
