Known for outfitting restaurants like Ironside Fish & Oyster, Puesto, Craft & Commerce, and most recently Little Italy’s new steakhouse stunner Born & Raised, hospitality designer Paul Basile has made his high-end furnishings available for retail purchase under the brand Basile Built. Calling the online boutique a “natural next step” for Basile Studio—his East Village full-service commercial design, build, and fabrication firm—he adds, “It’s another creative outlet to manifest designs that never came to fruition.”
Including established commercial showpieces such as the Key Bar Stool shown here at Broadstone Balboa Park, Basile Built’s 14-piece debut collection comprises chairs, tables, light fixtures, tiles, and benches. Items range from $25 to upward of $10,000, with new pieces introduced every quarter. Turnaround time is four to six weeks, but hey, looking good isn’t easy.
