Small Batch Makes a Chic Debut in La Mesa

Sometimes it takes a village. In other instances, it just takes two best friends to see a retail vision through. Born out of Brittany Peña and Lacy Bird’s dream to bring a one-stop home decor and gift shop to La Mesa Village, Small Batch opened late last year.
There’s something for everyone, from terra-cotta planters for the green thumbs and stationery by Elum Designs for the letter lovers to Hen House Apparel and Tangerine Toys for the tykes. Plus, you can find home accents and accessories from Kasia Jewelry and Pan & Tea for the modernists, and Bradley Mountain goods for the guys.
The co-owners explain the origin of their name and inventory simply: “We wanted to carry locally made products created in small batches.” Carry on!
