The bohemian clothing and lifestyle brand has a second location within Moniker General
Following the bohemian clothing and lifestyle boutique she opened five years ago in Del Mar and two stylish Liberty Station pop-ups in September and May, Andrea Van De Vort has permanently rolled in the racks of her eponymous label to Moniker General. Â She calls the partnership a shop-in-shop and just the start of her expansion—she’s opening a third location in Carmel Valley’s One Paseo community next spring.
A neon pink Van De Vort sign marks her second piece of real estate, curated for downtown’s more tourist-heavy clientele. The mixed retail and coworking space previously known for its spartan, male-centric inventory now sports lightweight jumpsuits, flowy bottoms, and dresses hanging from the racks, while easier grabs like round brass flasks, woven handbags, Slowtide towels, and graphic tees occupy the rest of the nook.

After six years as a sales rep in LA’s fashion district, Van De Vort headed to San Diego in 2013, bringing with her labels you couldn’t find here before. “There wasn’t much of a fashion scene down here,” she recalls. “I needed to fill the void, so I opened a store. I brought down a lot of the brands that were up-and-coming and I knew people couldn’t get.”
Even as the boutique has evolved since then, from festival fads to more minimalist and mature styles, Van De Vort hasn’t forgotten her North County beginnings: She continues to stock some of her original designers, like Flynn Skye, Novella Royale, For Love and Lemons, and Amuse Society.
Downtown, your Van De Vort void has officially been filled.
