Water & Power will be released in San Diego on Friday, May 2nd. The independent Latino Film was first screened at the San Diego Latin Film Festival in March. Director Richard Montoya made it clear that “San Diego is in this film.” The story was filmed on the streets of Los Angeles but the strong Chicano themes connect to San Diego’s history and culture.
Montoya is a native of San Diego and attended the screening in Mission Valley along with several cast members. It follows the story of two brothers nicknamed Water & Power. One is a senator, the other a cop: both get mixed up in something gone wrong. The classic noir style film is heavy but laced with humor.
See the film in San Diego starting on May 2nd at these theaters:
- Fashion Valley 18
- Otay Ranch 12
- Plaza Bonita 14 with IMAX
