To keep a restaurant alive for 10 years these days is a bit of a Herculean feat. But three-time James Beard nominee Carl Schroeder has managed to do just that at Market because, well, his food is phenomenal. For these anniversary dinners, he’s created a 10-course feast: roasted cauliflower soup & curry-braised Dungeness crab; shaved fuyu persimmon and Asian-pear salad; local spiny lobster and red snapper ceviche; blue cheese soufflé and Tahitian squash-apple chutney; smoked porcini mushroom ravioli and shaved truffles; miso-roasted seabass with dash hot-n-sour; trio of Hudson Valley duck; grilled prime ribeye cap and cabernet-braised short rib; kabocha squash crepes and pear-ginger sorbet; and finally, warm chocolate soufflé cake with milk chocolate malt ice cream. There will be wine pairings for every course. An epic, epic dinner to celebrate one of the city’s top restaurants.
