On Saturdays you’ll likely find me at The Surf Check, a coffee stand on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard that serves coffee, acai bowls, and pastries out of a retro trailer. The routine is to put my name on the list at next door’s Little Lion, a charming but tiny bistro along Sunset Cliffs Boulevard that sometimes has hour-long waits.
