There is a certain joy that comes with seeing those colorful boxes every year: green, purple, orange, brown. The joy of their contents—Thin Mints, Samoas, Peanut Butter Patties, and Girl Scout S’mores—was probably unmatched. At least until you graduated from Girl Scout Cookies to craft beer, anyway.
But who says you can’t have both? A handful of San Diego brewers are giving you license to indulge your nostalgia and your craft beer palate with Girl Scout Cookie-and-beer pairings during a weekend-long Cookies on Tap event. The tastings take place at eight locations of Alesmith Brewing Company, Mike Hess Brewing, and Stone Brewing in celebration of National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend, February 23-25.
Is this a touch pretentious? Is it highbrow? Is it lowbrow?
Is a Samoa delicious when paired with a Hawaiian Speedway Stout? Is the taste of a Festivus Altbier enhanced by Trefoils? Can’t knock it ‘til you try it, which you can do (or sample several other pairings) at these cookie-loving breweries.
Pairings are $15. A portion of proceeds go to the Girl Scouts.
