Former Wired magazine editor-in-chief Chris Anderson wrote in the New York Times over the weekend about why he recently quit his job to come run a San Diego-based drone company with Jordi Munoz, one of our 50 People to Watch this year. His commentary is centered around a belief that Mexico is replacing China as the center for both skilled and unskilled manufacturing, and that San Diego is the ideal American innovation center because of its proximity to Tijuana.
Read more about Jordi Munoz here from our interview last month. The drones made by 3D Robotics are targeted at consumers looking to take remote video and photos, not the military.
KPBS also ran a story about Munoz and Anderson. Read it here.
